• Expert technical skills across the architecture disciplines of Application, Integration, Data and Security and the ability to unify them into an organized IT architecture.
  
• Architect business applications and services to run on complex, large-scale on-premises and cloud/hybrid infrastructures.
  
• Provide advice and support to business and technology stakeholders in designing future ICT platforms and services.
  
• Work with architecture tools, frameworks and methodologies; define, publish and maintain high-quality architecture documentation.
  
• Produce design documentation in advance of implementation for both waterfall and agile project delivery.
  
• Apply functional application architecture design patterns and leading practices.
  
• Design for non-functional requirements such as performance, availability and scalability.
  
• Architect on large transformation programmes.
  
• Knowledge of cross-platform technologies (for example VMware, Red Hat OpenShift, IMDG, Redis, 3Scale, SSO/Keycloak, OIDC, LDAP/AD), database technologies (MariaDB/Galera, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Ingres), application technologies (JBoss, Spring Boot), web UI (Angular) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
  
• Understand SOA and microservices patterns and apply them to design optimal solutions.
  
• Maintain IT governance across projects and provide architectural governance.
  
• Oversee the implementation of a solution architecture based on business requirements and ICT strategy.
  
• Understand API and microservices interoperability solutions; federation and federated identity providers.
  
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and agree on technical aspects of IT architecture.
  
• Support the department in forming the future strategic direction of ICT and digital services.
  
• Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  
• Work with clients to assess current infrastructure, application portfolios and pain points to define strategic modernization plans.
  
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure designs are implemented with best practices in coding, security and performance.
  
• Guide PoC development to help clients visualize the future state of their applications.
  
• Facilitate workshops and technical sessions to build consensus and align on architectural decisions.
  

• 5+ years of experience as a Solution Architect or Technical Architect
  
• Hands-on Java developer/Tech Lead experience
  
• Strong knowledge of architectural patterns and best practices
  
• Application modernization experience
  
• Strong technical and communication skills
  
• Confident working with senior stakeholders
