Overview

Senior Medical Social Worker – Rehab (Age related & Respiratory) – Full Time, Specified Purpose

Location: Peamount Healthcare, Newcastle, Co. Dublin. Fully onsite. Hours: 35 per week (discretion of Department Head). Salary: €70,980–€81,874 per year (subject to relevant Public Sector experience, pro-rated for hours).

Contract Type: Full Time – Specified Purpose; also permanent and relief postings may be available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality social work services as part of a dedicated and innovative team.
  • Work as a Senior Medical Social Worker – Rehab (Age related & Respiratory) with a recovery-oriented, client-centred approach.
  • Engage in case work, support planning, and multidisciplinary collaboration to meet service needs.
  • Act as a key worker where required and participate in care planning, quality improvements, and protocols.
  • Apply knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care Sector and HIQA guidelines.
  • Deliver services to day attenders at Stewarts Care and contribute to overall care quality.
  • Participate in training, development, and implementation of evidence-based practices.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Full QQI Level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level (essential).
  • Experience as a Medical Social Worker in a hospital setting and working with multidisciplinary teams (preferred).
  • Experience / knowledge of the role of a key worker and working with individuals with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication skills; proven knowledge of HIQA regulations.
  • At least one year's recent experience working as a Social Care Worker or in related social care roles.
  • Experience in areas such as Intellectual Disability, Autism initiatives, and positive behaviour support is advantageous.

  • Working hours: 35 hours per week; shift patterns across a 7-day roster may apply.
