Community and Tenant Relations Officer, Property
Location: Dublin (involving regional travel when required)
Contract: Full-Time, Specific Purpose
Focus Ireland has developed the innovative Meascan Model of intentional social mix whereby people moving into developments whose neighbours will have a history of homelessness will know this in advance of moving in and will understand some of the challenges that may – albeit rarely – arise.
The role of the Community and Tenant Relations Officer is integral to this model and they will work in partnership with tenants, services, property staff and other stakeholders to build sustainable communities. They will empower individuals, families and whole communities to identify their needs, opportunities, rights and responsibilities, engage them in identifying the issues that affect their lives and ensure that they have an influence on decision-making regarding those issues both within Focus and in the wider community.
What you will do:
- Facilitate tenant and community engagement events, ensuring our tenants are integrated into the local community.
- Develop tenant participation skills through coaching and training.
- Work across departments to develop and implement policies to improve tenant satisfaction and embed tenant participation across the organisation.
- Work with Service staff on ongoing initiatives regarding customer engagement to ensure that participation and engagement is embedded across all aspects of the organisation.
- Ensure that tenant consultation and input is sought to improve service delivery.
- Support the Focus Ireland complaint process, particularly through mediation on matters of potential conflict and providing information for the determination process.
- Set goals for improvement and respond to problems and needs through empowerment and active participation.
- Build links with other groups and agencies and work in partnership to develop and implement strategies to benefit the local community.
- Develop Key Performance Indicators to measure outcomes.
- Undertake all duties which may reasonably be assigned from time to time.
What you will need:
- Minimum of three years' experience in a related field.
- Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Strong negotiation and mediation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Suite, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Work within the framework of the overall strategic objectives and values of Focus Ireland.
- Knowledge of the social housing sector. (Desirable)
Focus Ireland is an equal opportunities employer.
We are driven by the fundamental belief that homelessness is wrong. Wrong because it is a failure of society that creates victims out of ordinary people and robs them of their potential. Focus Ireland currently employs 435 people in various capacities that include permanent, fixed term, full time, part time, and relief.
We aim to create continuous improvement and add value through partnership, integration, accessibility, and empowerment of all employees.
What we offer:
- Top up Maternity Benefit up to 22 weeks
- Top up Paternity leave up to 8 days
- Education Policy - provision of financial support for upskilling/qualifications
- Paid expenses
- Cycle to Work scheme
- Annual Leave – 25 days
- Defined Contribution – 5% employee contribution and 7% employer contribution
- EAP – Employee assistance programme – staff counselling
- Death in Service benefit – 3 times salary
