Founded in 1994, Complete Laboratory Solutions (CLS) is Ireland's highest accredited contract laboratory and a leading provider of sampling, analysis, and testing services to the pharmaceutical, medical device, food, and environmental industries.
In addition to analysis and testing at our commercial laboratories, CLS builds strategic partnerships with clients to deliver flexible and managed quality solutions (FlexiQ), supplying highly skilled, work-ready quality professionals on a temporary, project-specific, or long-term basis. This service can be provided at a CLS site or directly at the client's location.
Job Title, Summary & Reporting LineReporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Financial Accountant (Senior) will oversee the operational aspects of the company's finance function. The role involves managing financial transactions, ensuring regulatory compliance, preparing reports, and supporting the CFO with financial insights for decision-making.
What's Important- Previous experience as a Financial Accountant in an SME environment.
- Experience using SAP and Microsoft Power BI.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with standards.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Manage claims processes for funding to maximize opportunities.
- Process monthly payroll accurately and on time.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and support group reporting and analyses.
- Ensure statutory reporting requirements are met, including VAT, tax filings, and year-end accounts.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts with department heads.
- Monitor performance against budgets, report variances, and recommend actions.
- Support financial modeling for new projects and scenario planning.
- Manage cash flow to meet financial obligations.
- Manage SAP financial modules, ensuring proper configuration and data entry.
- Collaborate with IT and other teams to improve reporting and automation.
- Develop dashboards and reports in Power BI for performance visualization.
- Train team members on Power BI dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Coordinate with auditors and maintain knowledge of relevant regulations.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a financial accountant in an SME.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and transactions.
- Experience with financial software and ERP systems, ideally SAP.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Hands-on financial management approach.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communicator, able to explain financial concepts to non-finance staff.
- Committed to confidentiality and professional integrity.
- Collaborative team player with strong relationship-building skills.
