A progressive and well-established chartered accountancy firm in the West Dublin / Meath area is seeking an Assistant Accountant – Audit to join their growing team. This is a full-time, permanent position, ideal for a part-qualified accountant with at least 2 years of practice experience and audit exposure. Practice experience is essential.

The Role

Reporting to the Accounts Manager, you will support audit and non-audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients. This role involves preparing financial statements, assisting with audits, managing statutory compliance, and contributing to a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review annual financial statements
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and assist with year-end close
  • Support management accounts preparation and audit engagements
  • Draft company and personal tax returns
  • Complete VAT and other statutory filings
  • Liaise with clients and assist on special assignments
  • Work to deadlines using established processes and procedures

Qualifications & Experience
  • Part-qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an accountancy practice
  • Strong communication, organisation, and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented and results-focused
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Excel (intermediate or advanced)
  • Experience with Sage Line 50, CCH Accounts Production, and Microsoft Office

Working Hours & Flexibility
  • 8:30am–5:30pm Mon–Thurs, 8:30am–2:30pm Friday
  • Remote working available (Mondays and Fridays after probation)
