Location: Dublin | Permanent

Due to continued growth and expansion, Eir Evo is seeking a Backup Engineer to join our dedicated backup team. This role is focused on Dell NetWorker, Data Domain and Azure Backup, supporting a key enterprise customer with their backup and recovery strategy.

Role Overview

As a Backup Engineer, you will work with enterprise-scale backup technologies, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of critical backup and recovery processes. While expertise in Dell NetWorker, Data Domain and Azure Backup is preferred, candidates with experience in other enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Commvault, Veritas NetBackup) will be considered.

Key Responsibilities


• Manage, monitor, and optimise Dell NetWorker, Data Domain and Azure Backup environments.


• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery policies.


• Troubleshoot and resolve backup failures, performance issues, and storage challenges.


• Work closely with customers to ensure backup compliance with business and regulatory requirements.


• Perform upgrades, migrations, and automation of backup systems.


• Provide documentation, reporting, and knowledge sharing with internal teams.

Required Skills & Experience


• Hands-on experience with Dell NetWorker, Data Domain and Azure Backup (or similar enterprise-scale backup solutions).


• Experience with Windows Server troubleshooting in a backup environment.


• Knowledge of backup best practices, including retention policies, recovery objectives, and security considerations.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience


• Certifications in Azure & Dell NetWorker or other backup solutions.
