Job Description:

Ocuco is offering an exciting opportunity for a talented Technical Documentation Lead to join our global development team. The successful candidate will work closely with the software development team to create, edit, and manage technical documentation that supports our products and services. This includes user manuals, online help, API guides, training materials, and technical specifications. The work will bridge the gap between technical complexity and user-friendly communication, ensuring our global audience of opticians and optometrists can effectively use our software.

Ocuco operates in a hybrid working environment, with employees working in the office three days per week.

Responsibilities:

  1. Define and own processes for documentation workflows.
  2. Oversee discoverability and user experience of documentation platforms.
  3. Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and customer success teams.

The successful candidate must have:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication or relevant technical qualification.
  2. 3+ years of Technical Writing experience in a software company.
  3. Strong understanding of technical writing best practices and methodologies.
  4. Familiarity with software development processes, including Agile and SAFe.
  5. Proficiency in tools such as Markdown, XML, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or similar.
  6. Native level of fluency in English.
  7. Ability to explain complex concepts in simple, clear terms for non-technical audiences.

The Successful candidate will also have:

  1. Experience in the healthcare or optometry industry.
  2. Familiarity with content management systems and version control systems (e.g., Git).
