The Municipal District of Baltinglass, Ireland MACE Ireland Part time

MAXOL Station in Blessington requires a part-time Sales Assistant to join their team.

Applicants must be over 18 for the sale of alcohol & cigarettes and must be available to work evening shifts.

WORK LOCATION: MAXOL STATION IN BLESSINGTON

CUSTOMER CARE
  • Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner, providing excellent customer care
  • Communicate effectively and welcomingly with customers
  • Ensure products are served in line with Food Hygiene Requirements
  • Maintain knowledge of current deli sales and promotions
  • Assist customers with queries regarding deli products
OPERATIONAL & STORE PRESENTATION
  • Accurately compute sales prices, total purchases, and process payments according to cash handling policies
  • Assist customers with bagging purchases
  • Stay informed about current store sales and promotions
  • Answer customer queries regarding store merchandise
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate to the Store Manager when needed
  • Open and close cash registers, handle cash, and perform related tasks
  • Keep shelves, counters, and floors tidy and clean
  • Clean all store areas and staff facilities as directed
  • Maintain an organized back store area
  • Receive and check stock following company guidelines
  • Pack stock in line with merchandising guidelines
  • Update shelf labels as instructed
  • Rotate stock to minimize waste
  • Prevent stock loss and waste vigilantly
  • Conduct stock takes as instructed
  • Prioritize health and safety for yourself, colleagues, and customers
FOOD SERVICE
  • Monitor temperatures in the deli area to ensure HACCP compliance
  • Maintain HACCP records appropriately
  • Monitor Critical Control Points to prevent contamination
  • Follow controls around all foods, including meats
GENERAL
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Store Management
REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous experience working in a Deli
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong numerical abilities
  • Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Self-motivated with good attention to detail
