Sustainability Consultant

The RPS Sustainability team is growing, and we are looking for a talented and ambitious Sustainability Consultant to join the team. The successful candidate will be based at one of our Republic of Ireland offices (Dublin, Cork, Galway, Kilkenny, or Sligo).

About The Role: The successful candidate will work on climate and sustainability projects for public and private sector clients, developing solutions to promote climate action, resource efficiency, and biodiversity protection. Responsibilities include:

  1. Undertaking GHG emissions inventories (including scope 1, 2, and 3; whole-life cycle), data management, and validation.
  2. Preparing carbon and sustainability strategies, including Net Zero roadmaps and Science Based Targets.
  3. Advising on low-carbon renewable energy technologies within the built environment sector.
  4. Conducting Life Cycle Assessments of products and infrastructure.
  5. Leading sustainability workshops on various projects.
  6. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide sustainability advice.

Qualifications:

  • An honours degree (Level 8) in engineering or science or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of experience working with the built environment industry (preferred).
  • Membership of professional bodies such as IEMA or ICRS (advantageous), with progress toward chartered status.

Experience:

  • Developing low-carbon design options with engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of Irish and European climate, energy, and environmental policies.
  • Experience with carbon/energy assessments and data software like OneClick LCA.
  • Data analysis skills related to sustainability metrics.
  • Understanding of built environment standards like BREEAM.
  • Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
