The ideal Teacher:

  • Has at least a Bachelor's degree
  • Is CELTA certified or equivalent
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching and inspires students to learn
  • Is sensitive to the needs of international students
  • Provides high-quality customer service
  • Possesses strong administrative and organizational skills

To be successful in this role:

  • Plan and deliver General English and Special Interest (SPIN) courses as directed by the DOS or ADOS
  • Deliver lectures on a rota basis
  • Select appropriate supplementary materials and topics, demonstrating sensitivity to the multicultural and multi-ethnic student body
  • Cover for absent colleagues as requested by the DOS or ADOS
  • Participate in peer observation programs
  • Attend and contribute to weekly staff meetings
  • Participate in at least three staff meetings per year, which may be after hours
  • Engage actively in regular CPD sessions (at least monthly)
  • Hold tutorials with students every 4 weeks
  • Input student grades into iTracker biweekly
  • Write student reports as required
  • Administer and mark tests, then return all documents to the DOS or ADOS
  • Maintain the tidiness of communal areas and the staff room
  • Represent EF positively as an ambassador for our methods and materials
  • Maintain necessary paperwork and perform administrative duties as directed
  • Keep accurate electronic registers and record daily attendance in accordance with EF policy
  • Report any student absent for 2 consecutive days to the Academic Department; notify upon return, following EF policy
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations as directed by the Health and Safety Officer
