Reporting to the Reader Services Manager, the Part-time Library Assistant is a student-facing role based in the Reference Desk of the DBS Library and Academic Hub. The role's primary focus is to provide in-person and online reference and lending services to all Library users. Excellent customer service and flexibility are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and assist Library users with queries regarding access to and searching of the Library's collection of print and online resources both in-person and online
  • Processing and allocation of reservation requests
  • Provide support to students using the Library's online booking systems
  • Provide support to students via the Library's email, chat, and phone services
  • Provide support to students using self-check stations
  • Troubleshooting facilities, photocopier, and IT issues as required
  • Ensure the physical library, reading room and collection are tidy
  • Assist with the development of support materials including guides and webpages
  • Any other duties as required by the Library Leadership Team

Requirements

  • Excellent IT and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Availability to work evening shifts and weekend hours as required
  • Flexibility to work daytime shifts

The compensation for this role is €13.50 PH.
