SiriusXM's new Dublin facility will comprise a workforce primarily focused on software development, automotive technology and engineering, adtech, data science, and analytics. Talent based in the new technology hub will be charged with developing and implementing best-in-class standards for high- quality, scalable software deliveries for SiriusXM's streaming and in-vehicle audio entertainment platforms.

How you'll make an impact:
The Software Engineer III will be responsible for maintenance and new feature
development of 360L SiriusXM application running on Android, Linux, and Windows platforms and used by internal SiriusXM for UI/UX trials written in C++ / Qt Framework.

What you'll do:

  • Assist in the design, documentation, and implementation of application software tobring SAT and IP streaming audio, data and advanced user interfaces to ourcustomers.

  • Support the full software development lifecycle from initial feature definition through software release and in-field customer support.

  • Perform analysis of internal and third-party product requirements andspecifications, understanding of software framework architectures and designs tomeet internal and external customer needs.

  • Participate in software design and review sessions with the software team andother stakeholders.

  • Author software application notes, programming manuals, and training materialsfor distribution and presentation to Sirius XM partners.

  • Author software components, ensuring they meet functional and qualityrequirements.

  • Utilize best practices in implementing software deliverables.

  • Assist in supporting end-users of the software deliverables, providing support asneeded.

  • Perform special projects, lab/field testing, and other duties as necessary.

  • Assist in the development of user interface software specifications and softwarefor SiriusXM Radio receiver products.

  • Provide regular and accurate reports to the Senior Manager – OEM Validation andperform special projects, lab/field testing, and other duties as necessary.

What you'll need:

  • BS Software Engineering or equivalent experience required. Masters SoftwareEngineering is desired.

  • 3 or more years software, framework and application development for one or moreof the following embedded consumer, streaming devices, medical devices, industrialautomation, Client and Server, automotive products, web, mobile services (Android,iOS)

  • Experience in one or more of the following Operating Systems; SELinux / Linux,QNX, Android, iOS, Unix like, Windows or embedded rtos.

  • Experience in a variety of programming languages/frameworks across the stackincluding one or more of C/C++, Rust, Java, React Native, javascript, JSON, QT/QML,Flutter, Typescript, Python

  • Experience in participating in formal documentation and source code reviews, providing relevant and insightful feedback to team members

  • Familiarity using advanced software development environments (IDE, compilers,operating systems, source management tools, CI/CD, and test tools)

  • Familiarity of formal software design and agile processes

  • Familiarity with configuration management and defect tracking tools (GitHub, Jira)

  • Familiarity with unit testing best practices

  • Knowledge in object-oriented methodologies, and system software designconcepts

  • Good public speaking and presentation skills.

  • Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.

  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask, andwork under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.

  • Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles.

  • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.

What is a plus:

  • Knowledge of real-time software with the ability to clearly articulate complex system requirements, and design considerations.

  • Knowledge of REST HTTP protocols

  • Experience with one or more of the following protocols BLE, WiFi, CAN, LIN, or Ethernet.
