Trainee Manager

Main purpose of the role:
Support the management team in all aspects of the store's operation while gaining detailed experience in various departments throughout the store.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- At least 1 year of experience in the retail industry is desirable
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Experience balancing cash/tills is desirable
- Experience with fresh food
- Highly driven with a strong work ethic
- Commercial awareness and brand consciousness
- Passion for grocery retail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment
Main Duties:
- Actively embody Centra brand values: Proud, Energetic, Imaginative, and Community-Based
- Set, monitor, and achieve sales targets with the team on gross profit margin, net margin, waste, and other KPIs as agreed with the Store Manager
- Participate actively in all training and development initiatives, including performance assessments
- Merchandise and present the entire store to the highest standard at all times, following store planograms and guidelines
- Implement planograms accurately and ensure the correct range is in place in store
- Gain competence in all aspects of supply procedures: ordering, delivery, stock rotation, and control procedures
- Manage assigned departments effectively
- Engage with new initiatives and adopt new ways of working
