Staff Nurse (Palliative Care)

Purpose of the Post:

Care Network Ireland is currently recruiting for a Palliative Care Nurse (Community) to serve the Waterford region. The Staff Nurse (Palliative Care) will deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating holistic care while adhering to the highest professional and ethical standards. This role will play a pivotal part in providing specialist palliative care, enhancing patients' quality of life, and promoting optimum independence.

Positions Available:

  • Full-Time temporary shifts

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to palliative care patients.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans.
  • Manage pain and other distressing symptoms, ensuring patient comfort.
  • Offer emotional, psychological, and social support to patients and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including doctors, allied health professionals, and support staff.
  • Administer medications and monitor patients' responses to treatment.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in line with professional and legal standards.
  • Support and educate families on palliative care needs and end-of-life planning.
  • Promote a dignified, respectful, and patient-centred approach to care.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
