Overview

Prep Chef Six by Nico - Dublin 1 Molesworth Pl, Leinster, Dublin, D02 WE52. Six by Nico is a vibrant and unique restaurant group focusing around a themed six course tasting menu, currently thriving throughout the UK and Ireland. We are currently seeking an experienced Prep Chef who is an enthusiastic and driven individual, to join the team at Six by Nico.

This role will see you working full time 4 days per week, Tuesday-Friday.

The role involves changing menus regularly to provide continual development of your cooking skills and knowledge with different cooking styles.

Location: Dublin, Ireland. Employment details and hours reflect the needs of the Six by Nico concept.

Responsibilities
  • While working under the direction of the Head/Sous Chef or Executive Chef, carry out duties as directed.
  • Ensure high standards are met and maintained for preparation, presentation and storage of all foods.
  • Be responsible for the preparation and portioning of ingredients and food items in a timely and effective manner, according to the recipes' requirements outlined in the Company food specification, ensuring they are ready for service and busy periods.
  • Follow detailed recipes and instructions provided by the Head/Sous Chef and ensure accurate and consistent preparation of components.
  • Organise and maintain the inventory of ingredients, monitoring ingredient levels and reporting when items are running low to facilitate restocking.
  • Minimise food waste by using trimmings and excess ingredients in creative ways or follow the Company guidelines on responsible disposal.
  • Work cohesively with the kitchen team, communicating effectively to streamline operations and ensure efficient teamwork.
  • Ensure high standards of Health & Safety/Food Safety are adhered to.
  • Be fully aware of all allergens throughout each menu cycle and make sure any allergen is treated with care and thought.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, enabling smooth workflow and reducing the risk of cross-contamination.
  • Act professionally at all times to maintain Company standards and achieve guest satisfaction.
  • Receive and process deliveries of food and equipment, and store appropriately; ensuring food items are labelled correctly to avoid cross contamination.
