Cairn Homes are seeking a high-calibre Site Engineer to join our team. This site-based role is an 18-month FTC.

Key responsibilities:

The candidate will typically undertake and assist with the following duties:

  1. Monitor and evaluate quality control for sub-contractor's work.
  2. Coordinate site drawings.
  3. Set out for subcontractors, including providing gridlines and levels for groundwork, RC frame, foundations, floor slabs, blocklaying, services, civil works, and house plots on housing projects; issuing surveys to solicitors; supervising and monitoring ground works, civil engineering contractors, and concrete frame contractors.
  4. RC frame experience is desirable, especially with residential or contracting backgrounds.
  5. Develop strong relationships with subcontractors to deliver outputs on time, within budget, with high quality and attention to detail.
  6. Maintain site records and quality assurance documentation.
The candidate should have:
  • HETAC Level 8 Engineering qualification.
  • Ability to meet demanding time and quality targets.
  • Good spoken and written communication skills.
  • Methodical approach, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Ability to work well with people at all levels and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivation and initiative.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to accept responsibility for tasks.
