Quality Manager – Construction (Cork)

One of Munster's most respected building and civil engineering contractors, recognised for delivering premium projects across residential, commercial, healthcare, education, and pharmaceutical sectors. With over three decades of experience and a reputation for excellence, innovation, and quality delivery, they are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to drive quality excellence and compliance across their construction projects.

The Role

As Quality Manager, you will drive quality excellence and compliance across our projects, ensuring delivery meets industry standards Right First Time. Reporting directly to the Associate Director in Quality, you will work closely with Project Managers, Contracts Managers, and project teams to maintain quality targets while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and mentoring project personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project-specific Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Oversee quality inspections, method statements, and conduct regular site quality audits with feedback to project teams
  • Support BCAR inspections, documentation, and certification processes while managing external audits
  • Monitor and close out non-conformance reports, implementing corrective actions to resolve quality issues
  • Deliver quality-focused training and inductions for employees and subcontractors while mentoring project teams
  • Lead the use of Procore for quality management and support lean initiatives to improve construction efficiency
Training & Development
  • Deliver quality-focused inductions and training for employees and subcontractors
  • Mentor project teams and support ongoing employee development
  • Promote best practices, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing across all projects
  • Collaborate with Contracts Managers and HR to document development milestones and integrate quality training into onboarding
  • Organise toolbox talks, workshops, and refresher sessions to reinforce quality standards
Process Improvement
  • Support lean initiatives to improve construction quality and efficiency
  • Lead the use of Procore for quality management and ensure teams are trained in its use
  • Capture and apply lessons learned from past projects to enhance future delivery
Requirements
  • A qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a management role within construction, ideally with main contractors
  • Strong knowledge of BCAR, quality systems, site compliance, and building regulations in Ireland
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills with ability to influence teams and promote continuous improvement
  • Experience with digital construction management tools and commitment to delivering projects to the highest quality standards
