Job Duties and Responsibilities:Holders of the office may be assigned to work in various areas within Kilkenny County Council, including Housing, Roads, Planning, or Environment Sections. The specific duties will vary depending on the section, but generally include:
- Undertaking inspections, taking records or samples, and compiling reports (depending on section):
- Housing inspections for maintenance assessments, monitoring private rented housing standards, or grant applications;
- Environmental inspections to ensure statutory compliance;
- Roads inspections to verify compliance with licenses;
- Assisting in producing tender and contract documents and drawings;
- Assisting in preparing CPO documents, maps, schedules, and registers;
- Producing documents for Part VIII Planning or other statutory applications;
- Using surveying equipment for topographical surveys;
- Utilizing technical software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and ArcGIS;
- Conducting land registry and folio searches;
- Validating planning applications;
- Performing other administrative or technical duties as assigned;
- Helping develop best practice procedures;
- Complying with and contributing to the H&S Management System.
