What you will do:
PGIM Quantitative Solutions is looking to hire a Software Developer to join its Systems Development team to help build and support Investment Management technology solutions.
This is an exciting time to join PQS as it embarks on a multi-year strategic program to migrate existing business applications to Microsoft Azure, Fabric & Power Apps platforms. As such, PQS is seeking an experienced individual with capabilities both in the current & future technology stacks.
The selected candidate will be part of a highly talented, multifunctional team and be involved in technology solutions across the full spectrum of Investment Management business capabilities.
The team works in a scrum agile fashion, following standard ceremonies and procedures and as such you'll be expected to participate accordingly. This will involve collaborating with business analysts, other developers and individuals within the business to refine stories that lead to design and estimation; the creation of underlying tasks, their execution, documentation and testing that ultimately deliver solutions that are fit for purpose and solve identified problems.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in C# .Net and Oracle database development to support the existing stack and experienced with MS Azure, MS Fabric and MS PowerApps to cater for future work.
In addition to software development, as an evolving SME, you will be expected to work with production support to support PQS systems as and when needed.
This position requires an eager and dynamic individual capable of working independently and in a variety of capacities. To be considered for this position, candidates must possess very strong oral / written communication skills, work well with others, the ability to manage multiple concurrent activities and the requisite technology skills below.
Responsibilities & Expectations include:
Collaborates and communicates effectively with team members & business partners.
Actively participates in Agile Scrum methodologies; reviewing stories, creating tasks, product grooming, estimating work, stand-ups, retrospectives, sprint planning etc.
Strong diagnostic, analytic, and problem-solving skills
Analyzes business requirements / stories, elicits further clarification, politely challenges, asks "why" and understands context before solutioning.
Designs solutions by applying modern software architectural patterns and can articulate reasons behind design decisions. Keeps up with new technologies and incorporates best practices.
Builds scalable, supportable software that follows PQS coding standards, including secure coding best practices and incorporates other IT governance / risk standards.
Experienced working in a test-driven development environment.
Develop and execute test scenarios to ensure the stability and performance of applications utilizing unit test framework
Participates in peer code reviews to maintain & improve the quality of solutions.
Supports QA & UAT processes to enable delivery of the end product.
Shares ideas / concepts at relevant communities of practice and within the broader team.
Provide technical support, troubleshoot production issues, and drive process improvements by incorporating new technologies and best practices to enhance business operations.
Periodic production support responsibilities

Skills / Qualifications:
7+ years prior .NET development in Financial Services
.NET Framework 4.6.1 and up
C#, ASP.NET MVC 5, AJAX, Windows Communication Foundation
Oracle, SQL Server
Expertise in Object Oriented Programming
Experience in Unit test framework and continuous integration
Knowledge of Microsoft reporting service, Microsoft Patterns & Best Practices
B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar

Python Development: Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with frameworks like FastAPI, Django, or Flask, and the ability to write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code.
