Product Validation Engineer
Location: Shannon, Co. Clare, Ireland (100% On-Site)

A well-established and innovative electronics manufacturer is currently seeking an experienced Product Validation Engineer to join their on-site R&D team in Shannon. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in hands-on electronics testing who is passionate about product quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Role Overview
This lab-based engineering role involves supporting new product development through rigorous validation of both hardware and software components. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure new IoT and life-safety devices meet high performance, safety, and compliance standards before release to market.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end validation of electronic and IoT-based products, including RF modules, gateways, apps, and cloud systems
- Assemble prototypes and carry out key tests including ESD, surge, and transient testing
- Collaborate with design teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Create and execute test plans, document test results, and generate clear technical reports
- Support internal QA processes and contribute to technical documentation
Required Experience & Skills
- 2+ years' hands-on experience validating electronic products (hardware/software), ideally in IoT, safety-critical or consumer electronics
- Strong understanding of electronics principles with the ability to read and interpret schematics
- Proficient in the use of electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators)
- Skilled in soldering and rework, including surface-mount components
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and task management skills
- Qualification in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Familiarity with automated QA tools (e.g., LabView, Selenium)
- Experience working with mains-powered products
- Exposure to defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
- ISTQB or similar QA certifications
