Overview

Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal Focus (Mixed Practice) at Old Church Vets, Donegal. This role is built around small animal first opinion practice with occasional large animal work as part of a well-structured, shared on-call rota.

Location: Old Church Vets, Donegal, Ireland. Salary: Up to €60,000 DOE. Relocation Assistance: Up to €5,000 (T&C's apply).

Responsibilities

• Handle a wide variety of small animal medical and surgical cases.
• Manage cases from consult to resolution with access to in-house facilities; refer minimally where appropriate.
• Participate in a shared on-call rota with occasional large animal work.
• Maintain high standards of clinical care and contribute to a friendly, forward-thinking team.

Qualifications

• VCI registered and eligible to work in Ireland
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
• Keen to grow, curious to learn; friendly, professional, and team-focused
• Comfortable with some large animal work or open to developing this with guidance

About Us

Old Church Veterinary Group is an established mixed practice with a focus on progressive, compassionate care. Founded in 1954 in Ballyshannon, we now operate from three locations: our flagship church hospital in Donegal Town, Ballyshannon, and Grange, Co. Sligo. Our caseload includes small animals (majority), farm animals, and a limited number of equine clients. The team comprises 9 vets, 6 RVNs, and strong support staff.
