Base pay range

Our client operates at the heart of Ireland's construction supply chain and partners exclusively with global manufacturers to distribute premium-quality building products nationwide. As they continue to expand and grow, they are now seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join their Dublin-based team, to lead and evolve their purchasing function.

As the Purchasing Manager, you will take full ownership of the procurement operation, ensuring stock levels are proactively managed to support ongoing commercial activity. This role involves refining systems and procedures, and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

The Position

  1. Manage and lead the Purchasing Team members, including recruitment and training.
  2. Maintain and develop supplier relationships across existing and new channels.
  3. Oversee inventory planning, stock reviews, and forecast requirements.
  4. Ensure accurate usage and continuous improvement of the SAP system.
  5. Improve stock turn metrics and reduce aged stock.
  6. Resolve delivery discrepancies and manage supplier performance.
  7. Collaborate with other departments on new products, process improvements, and supply chain efficiency.
  8. Coordinate transport and logistics with internal and external partners.

The Person

  1. 5+ years' experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within construction, hardware, or related sectors.
  2. Proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  3. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
  4. Skilled communicator with ability to influence and negotiate.
  5. Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
  6. Proficient in ERP systems (SAP experience is an advantage).
  7. Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
