Overview

We are currently recruiting an Early Years Educator Graduate Leader for our service in Oranmore, caring for children from 6 months to 6 years. This year the Graduate leader will run a pre-school aged classroom with 10 children during ECCE hours and 8 children during full day care hours.

Requirements
  • Minimum FETAC Level 7 Major award in Childcare or equivalent as listed on the DCEDIY Early Years Recognised Qualification List or a letter from DCEDIY
  • Experience: minimum 1 year in the Childcare Sector (Work Placement/Practice unaccounted)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Child Protection and/or willingness to become certified in "Children's First" programme.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Aistear curriculum framework
  • Paediatric First Aid certified
  • We are looking for someone who is passionate and a positive role model and supporting member within the Early Years sector to join our team
Responsibilities
  • Implement a developmentally appropriate preschool and after school programmes for young children
  • Ensuring a high standard of care and guidance to all children in your care under the designed programme
  • Support, supervise and guide early year educators working within your team and work within the line management system
  • Prioritising the health, safety and welfare of all children in the service
  • Developing individual educational plans, curriculum plans and observations to encourage child development and progression
  • Promote and help maintain an organised, clean, safe, well equipped and culturally sensitive learning environment
  • Communicating with parents and members of the community
  • Inducting new staff members within the team
  • Maintaining program administration
  • Performing other related duties as required

Details
  • Salary: €33,961.74 per annum (€16.28 per hour) with pay scale reflecting qualifications and length of service
  • Pay: €16.28 per hour
  • Work location: Fairyland Creche, Frenchpark, Oranmore, Galway, H91VR0K
  • Expected start date: As soon as possible (detailed induction)
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts; no weekends
  • Experience: childcare sector: 1 year (required)
  • Licence/Certification: FETAC/QQI Level 7 Major award in childcare (required)
  • Work authorisation: Ireland (required)
  • Education: Bachelor's (required)
