Base pay range

A well-established and growing chartered accountancy practice in the West Dublin / Meath area is seeking a talented Accounts Technician to join their busy Accounts team. This is a permanent, full-time position, ideal for a candidate with a solid practice accounting background who is looking for a long-term role with flexibility and strong client exposure.

The Role

Reporting to the Accounts Manager, you'll work with a wide variety of clients, including audit, non-audit, and sole traders across multiple sectors. The role offers a balance of autonomy and team collaboration in a professional yet supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of working papers and financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and firm procedures
  • Preparation of management accounts (quarterly or biannually) for selected clients
  • Completion and filing of VAT, VAT RTD, and RCT returns
  • Preparing draft year-end files and performing bank reconciliations
  • Managing and responding to client queries in a professional manner
  • Taking initiative and ownership of workload with minimal supervision
  • Supporting the wider team with ad hoc duties as required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' practice experience in a similar role
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (intermediate level or above)
  • Experience with Sage Accounts
  • Familiarity with accounts production software such as CCH or equivalent
  • Standard hours: 8:30am-5:30pm Monday to Thursday, 8:30am-2:30pm Friday
  • Flexible start and finish times
  • Hybrid working: Option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
