The Role:

The Adult Autism Supports Officer will report directly to the Adult Autism Supports Manager and will be part of the team responsible for the day-to-day operation of AsIAm's Adult Supports Programme.

This role provides an ideal opportunity for someone who is highly organised with excellent IT and administrative skills, is comfortable and skilled in interacting with vulnerable people, and is able to autonomously prioritise daily tasks according to urgency.

We particularly welcome applications from neurodivergent individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Onboard new adults to the Adult Supports Programme
  • Collate and organise information received from Autistic adults and family members to inform group management
  • Liaise with adults and families regarding programme queries in a timely and sensitive fashion
  • Manage and oversee the booking system for Adult support groups and events
  • Liaise with group facilitators and volunteers to ensure safeguarding of adults and family members across all groups
  • Produce supporting materials for adults attending groups (e.g., visual guides)
  • Occasionally offer cover as chaperone in local or online groups
  • Provide regular updates to both the Adults Supports Manager and the wider National Supports team as required
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders
  • Participate in the overall team to ensure collaborative teamwork and support other team members as required

Key Requirements:

Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Experience in managing and prioritising administrative workload
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong ability to communicate in the written form including in emails or guidance documents
  • Professional approach and an understanding of the value of professionalism
  • Knowledge of Autism
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and child safeguarding
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Discretion and confidentiality

Other requirements relevant to the role but not essential are:

  • Experience in a social care, healthcare or other relevant setting
  • Relevant academic qualification

Contract Duration:

This is a fixed term contract for one year, with the potential to be extended subject to funding.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary will align with Grade IV as set out in the HSE Consolidated Pay Grades.

Working Hours:

The role is typically Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility around start and finish times.

The role holder is required to have a degree of flexibility regarding working hours with the expectation of some evening and weekend work.

Location:

The role is based in AsIAm HQ in Blackrock, Co. Dublin. Hybrid working options are available for this role and can be agreed with the line manager subject to the organisation's needs.
