The Finance department based in the Cork Campus supports all functions of Apple in EMEIA, including the European Sales Fulfilment, AppleCare after-sales services, European Logistics, Manufacturing & Operations, Apple Media Products, Apple Retail as well as being the Shared Services Centre for EMEIA. Engineering & Operations Finance partners with the Engineering, Operations, and AppleCare teams to optimize the world's most innovative supply chain and provide the best possible customer experience. Intricately connected with their business partners, our team provides analysis for insightful decision making. The team is located in five major global sites: Cupertino, Austin, Shanghai, Singapore, and Cork.

This exciting role sits within the EMEIA Engineering & Operations Finance team. The team is primarily responsible for the management of costs and controls within specified business areas, as well as driving strategic decision-making and corporate initiatives. We engage directly with key customers, including all Operations functions (Logistics, Supply Demand Planning, Reseller Operations, Retail Fulfilment Operations, BPR), Product Operations, multiple Engineering groups, AppleCare, Corporate Procurement, GBS, Technical Accounting, Corporate Tax and Trade Compliance.

This role is a highly visible opportunity to lead a team of finance professionals, responsible for managing the AppleCare financials in the region and partnering closely with business partners both in region and internationally. Responsibilities
  • Full responsibility for the management and development of the team of analysts, supporting all areas within AppleCare business in EMEIA;
  • Review and approval of all journal vouchers, balance sheet reconciliations and other period close deliverables, in accordance with prescribed deadlines and our internal control environment;
  • Full accountability and ownership of the Management P&L, including all associated reporting and metrics;
  • Develop a deep understanding of each of the functional areas within the AppleCare business including but not limited to Warranty Support, Technical Support, Inventory and Sales;
  • Partner with the local business team to provide outstanding analysis, business partnering & decision support, helping to identify cost saving and revenue growth opportunities;
  • Develop positive relationships with the WW Business and Finance teams, to ensure the regional message is communicated effectively and is aligned to global AppleCare goals;
  • Be an active participant in the Operations Finance management.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Experience of managing people in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong communication and social skills with the ability to connect with people;
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills - a naturally enquiring approach;
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Approach situations with a can-do demeanour, as well as with a passion for constant improvement and willingness to change;
  • Accountability and the ability to own the hard calls;
  • Possess candour and resilience to thrive in an exciting environment;
  • Experience of working in a large, successful and driven finance department with tight deadlines;
  • Previous experience of working in a fast paced environment with multiple business partners.
