The Ireland Public Policy Manager will join a growing and dynamic team that works across Europe, Middle East, Africa, India, and Asia Pacific, supporting Amazon's global consumer business. Our policy issues are broad, forward-thinking, and driven by what is best for our customers, both internal and external. The International Public Policy team collaborates with national, local, and supranational policymakers, industry organizations, NGOs, and academia on various regulatory and policy issues affecting the consumer and commercial environment.

Key job responsibilities

As Ireland Public Policy Manager, you will be part of the EU Public Policy team. Your responsibilities include partnering with Irish and EU legislators and officials to support our consumer-centric business model at the highest levels of government and policy-making. You will lead external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, partnerships, and initiatives. Managing complex projects and providing clear guidance in high ambiguity situations will be essential. You should have a keen understanding of the public policy and regulatory environment related to economic policy and regulation.

You will coordinate Amazon's engagement with industry associations, coalitions, think tanks, and policy organizations, as well as manage consultancy support. Collaboration with Amazon's international public policy, public relations, legal, and business teams is vital to establish and execute our public policy engagement and advocacy strategies. You will advise relevant business units on the regulatory agenda and work closely with the AWS public policy team in Dublin to ensure a unified approach across Amazon.

Basic qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Extensive relevant experience in public policy and advocacy, such as corporate public policy, government relations, public administration, trade associations, or NGOs
  • Understanding of policy-making processes and government relations, especially related to economic policy and regulation
Preferred qualifications
  • Postgraduate degree relevant to this role
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex arguments clearly
  • Effective interpersonal skills; ability to interact comfortably at corporate and political levels
  • High ethical standards, confidentiality, integrity, and a strong professional reputation
  • Proven experience working across diverse organizational functions and cultures, independently
  • Previous experience in tech and retail public policy roles
  • Experience managing public policy campaigns
