Job Opportunity: EHS Specialist

In partnership with its client, Kenny-Whelan & Associates is currently sourcing for an EHS Specialist for one of its Life Science companies in the Cork area.

Profile of Role:

This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity for a talented EHS Specialist to join the EHS department. The role involves anticipating and minimizing workplace safety and environmental risks.

The successful candidate will be part of the site EHS team involved in creating and developing innovative pharmaceuticals to address unmet medical needs. Proven leadership abilities and experience in EHS implementation, preferably within highly regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or food and drink, are required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Demonstrate leadership capabilities and lead the team to drive EHS improvements with clear outcomes.
  2. Collaborate with site colleagues to foster a safety-by-choice culture and participate in driving EHS improvements.
  3. Support management of change processes, incident investigations, EHS standards compliance, audits, and capital projects.
  4. Develop EHS procedures, guidelines, and training programs in accordance with applicable regulations.
  5. Contribute to achieving the company's sustainability goals through site initiatives.
  6. Ensure timely completion of regulatory submissions and notifications to maintain compliance.
  7. Participate in EHS agency inspections and handle correspondence related to compliance.
  8. Perform responsibilities with oversight and supervision, addressing problems as they arise.
Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related Health & Safety discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with primary responsibilities in safety.
  • Knowledge of EHS regulations and their application.

Note: As this is a contract role, candidates must be eligible to work in Ireland and hold a Stamp 1G or Stamp 4 Visa.
