Senior Structural Maritime Engineer - Dublin or Cork, Ireland

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex maritime structures, including jetties and piers, within a global engineering consultancy.

Role Overview

Based in Dublin or Cork, Ireland, this is a 2-year Fixed Term Contract. The successful candidate will review and evaluate the design and construction of maritime assets, ensuring structural integrity and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the review of jetty/pier design and evaluate structural integrity, including materials selection.
  • Identify issues and recommend improvements to asset integrity and reliability.
  • Engage with stakeholders such as port authorities and towage providers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Marine Engineers, consultants, and PMO.
  • Report findings to clients with support from the PMO.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 7-20 years of experience in structural maritime engineering, including jetties, docks, or offshore platforms.
  • Experience analyzing maritime structural designs and assessing functionality.
  • Meticulous approach to design accuracy and documentation.
  • Ability to conduct safety assessments and hazard analysis.
  • Experience working in complex, matrix environments.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder engagement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
  • Must reside within commuting distance of Cork; no relocation support provided.
  • Must have the right to work in Ireland; sponsorship not available.
