Overview

Senior Psychologist - Children's Disability Network Team. This is a full-time Senior Grade Psychologist position, with Specific Purpose Contracts and maternity cover, supporting children and families presenting with complex needs arising from a combination of intellectual, physical, and/or sensory disabilities. The Senior Psychologist will be a valuable member of the Children's Disability Network Team, providing a quality evidence-based service in line with family-centred practice and Progressing Disability Services (PDS) principles.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment, diagnosis and intervention within a multidisciplinary team for children with complex presentations.
  • Deliver family-centred services aligned with PDS principles and evidence-based practice.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate intervention plans with children and families; contribute to service development and inter-disciplinary initiatives.
  • Lead and participate in team initiatives and training as appropriate.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and research interest where relevant.
Essential Qualifications
  • A university degree or diploma with first or second class honours in which Psychology was the major subject and honours obtained in that subject.
  • A recognised post-graduate professional qualification in Clinical, Educational or Counselling Psychology that meets the requirements of the Psychological Society of Ireland and is validated by the Department of Health and Children.
  • Applicants with qualifications obtained outside of Ireland must provide a certificate of validation of their qualification from the Department of Health.
  • A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in a disability service.
  • Excellent ability to work with complex presentations as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
Desirable
  • Experience conducting complex interdisciplinary diagnostic assessments.
  • Experience developing and facilitating training and intervention programmes.
  • Experience in leading team initiatives.
  • Keen interest in research.
  • Full clean driving licence and use of a car.
Location and Opportunities

Positions available on two St. Michael's House CDNTs: Coolock CDNT and Kilbarrack CDNT. A panel will be created for future employment opportunities across the four St. Michael's House Network Teams.
