Job Description

Fruition is a vibrant new brunch café located at the Irish Museum of Modern Art. We are passionate about exceptional food, great coffee, and creating a welcoming atmosphere in one of Dublin's most iconic cultural spaces. As a growing business, our goal is to become one of the top café destinations in the city.

We are offering a work experience opportunity for a Kitchen Assistant to learn the workings of a busy kitchen and contribute to our team. Responsibilities include dishwashing, deep cleaning, waste management, maintaining cleanliness and safety, handling deliveries, and basic food prep such as chopping, peeling, and portioning. The role also involves restocking, organizing storage, and learning food safety practices including HACCP and allergen management.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on kitchen experience with support from an experienced Head Chef in a creative, ambitious café environment.

Role Description

This is a training and work experience opportunity; prior experience is not required. Accredited training will be provided, and participants may also engage with the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module, developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This module fulfills the accredited training requirement for the WPEP.

The participant will receive formal and informal training in:

  • Daily cleaning procedures and hygiene standards
  • Dishwashing, waste disposal, and deep cleaning
  • Basic food preparation: peeling, chopping, and portioning
  • Safe handling and storage of deliveries
  • Stock rotation and organization using FIFO principles
  • Introduction to HACCP and food safety practices
  • Allergen awareness and cross-contamination prevention
  • Supporting kitchen service and understanding kitchen flow
  • Working effectively in a team in a high-paced environment
  • Clear communication and professional conduct in the kitchen
