Sulzer Pump Solutions Ireland Ltd, part of our Water and Industry Business Unit, develops products supporting water recycling in an energy-efficient way. Based in Wexford, with 270 employees.
This role involves designing, developing, coding, testing, and debugging embedded software and systems. You will recommend new approaches, advise on industry standards, and collaborate with hardware and programming teams.
Your main tasks include:
- Designing embedded software (firmware) for control, monitoring, and connectivity.
- Specifying, designing, and documenting requirements and test plans.
- Enhancing efficiency, stability, and scalability of designs.
- Collaborating with internal and external resources.
- Selecting software components for solutions.
- Managing updates to existing products.
- Advising on streamlining solutions.
Requirements:
- Honours Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or similar, with 7+ years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in C programming and firmware development for embedded applications.
- Knowledge of software architecture for industrial connected solutions.
- Experience with IoT or M2M embedded systems.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, CAN, OPC, DNP3).
- Knowledge of telecom/network protocols (TCP/IP, GPRS/3G/4G, Wireless, low energy).
- Experience with version control software.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, multinational team.
