Pathology Technician - Histology

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Contract Type: Permanent

An opportunity has arisen in our Laboratory department for a Pathology Technician in Histology.

This is a full-time, permanent position.

Purpose of the Post

Perform routine work to the highest professional standards in the histopathology laboratory, as determined by the Group Laboratory Manager, senior laboratory staff, and consultants, limited to:

  • Specimen transfer
  • Embedding tissue
  • Microtomy
  • Special stains
  • Case layout
  • Sample referral
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Block & slide filing as applicable
Professional Qualifications, Registration, Essential Skills & Knowledge

Candidates must:

  • Possess a BSc in Biomedical or Biological Sciences, preferably with practical experience in Histopathology
  • Have at least 1 year of experience in a medical laboratory since qualifying with a science degree
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and demonstrate awareness and sensitivity towards patients' needs.
