The Award Winning Ballygarry Estate Hotel & Spa, in the vibrant town of Tralee, currently has an exciting opportunity for a Food and Beverage Assistant to join our outstanding Restaurant 58 team

Requirements
  • Fluent English
  • Experience not essential but advantageous
Responsibilities
  • To ensure 4* standards of service are achieved at all times.
  • To perform in a professional and courteous manner with all customers (internal & external).
  • To offer an in-depth knowledge of food and beverage products and hotel services in general.
  • To ensure all hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times.
  • To comply with statutory and legal requirements for Health & Safety, Fire, Hygiene, and employment.
  • To maintain a clean Department at all times.
  • To be informed on SOPs for Food & Beverage venues & follow guidelines set out in these manuals.
  • To set up covers and tables accordingly; to prepare mise-en-place prior to service (napkins, cruets, glassware, cutlery, etc.).
  • Greeting and seating guests in the restaurant/brasserie and bar areas; taking food and beverage orders accurately and providing explanations & advice on menu items.
  • Serving food and beverages to guests in a timely manner; maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the restaurant, bar and banqueting areas.
  • To run food from kitchen to restaurant/brasserie; provide room service and assist with delivery and retrieval of orders.
  • Assisting with setup and breakdown of tables and chairs for banquets and events.
  • Providing excellent customer service and ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.
  • To assist with wash up by clearing and stacking all ware properly.
  • Handling guest complaints discretely and resolving issues.
  • Following all health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Assisting with inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies.
  • Assisting with menu planning and development; working closely with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Helping with the training and development of new staff members.
  • Reporting maintenance problems to the manager on duty; attending and participating in hotel meetings and training.
  • Helping other team members when needed (e.g., dropping drinks to tables for bartenders, clearing tables even if not in your own section).

The Hotel Food and Beverage Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring guests receive exceptional service and have a memorable dining experience. They contribute to the overall success of the food and beverage department by assisting in various tasks and responsibilities.

You must remain totally flexible in your position and may be required to carry out other tasks as directed by management.
