SilverBack is looking for HVAC Commissioning Engineers – Data Centre Projects (Full-Time, Europe-Based Role)

Based in Frankfurt, Germany | Rotation: 3 weeks on, 1 week off

SilverBack is seeking experienced HVAC Commissioning Engineers to join a permanent team, working on cutting-edge data centre projects across Europe. These are onsite roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commission HVAC systems (AHUs, chillers, ductwork, CHW) to meet design specs & BSRIA/CIBSE standards
  • Perform Test & Balance (TAB), static/dynamic pressure and airflow testing
  • Conduct load testing under live operational conditions
  • Troubleshoot commissioning issues with contractors and clients
  • Follow strict safety procedures (RAMS, SPAs, working at height)
  • Produce comprehensive commissioning and performance reports
  • Coordinate with PMs, subcontractors, and data centre operators to hit deadlines

Requirements

  • CSA Grade 3 or equivalent required; mechanical/HVAC diploma or degree preferred
  • 5+ years' HVAC commissioning experience, especially in data centre or large-scale projects
  • Expertise in TAB, flushing, and load testing (BSRIA BG 49/2015, CIBSE standards)
  • Proficient in reading HVAC drawings and system specs
  • Full clean driving licence preferred
  • EU passport/ German residency permit a strong advantage
  • Fluent English and ability to travel across Germany, Netherlands, France, Sweden & Spain
  • Safety certs (e.g., working at height) desirable
