Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist - EMEA

Title: Senior R&D Engineer – Catheter Technology (Medical Devices)

Location: Galway, Ireland (On-site with limited remote work)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Research & Development Engineer to join a highly innovative and physician-focused medical device development team, working on the next generation of catheter technologies. The successful candidate will play a key role in the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from early prototyping to design verification, process validation, and design transfer into production.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and documentation of lab testing protocols and technical files
• Drive the project through key milestones including design freeze and verification phases
• Oversee high-volume product builds and testing activities that support regulatory submissions
• Apply strong data assessment and documentation skills to support process validation and design transfer
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, regulatory, and clinical teams
• Manage technical challenges in a hands-on capacity within a lab environment
• Create and review test plans, analyze results, and contribute to iterative design improvement
• Work closely with external manufacturing partners while performing testing and technical work in-house
• Support technical file creation including procedures, protocols, risk assessments, and specifications
• Engage in regular on-site collaboration for effective communication and project alignment

Must-Have Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience across the full product development lifecycle in medical devices
• Strong hands-on engineering capabilities and ability to address high-volume technical challenges
• Experience in catheter-based systems or similar minimally invasive technologies
• Excellent understanding of test method development, execution, and results interpretation
• Familiarity with biomedical/medical device development environments
• Demonstrated ability to work on-site with engineering and testing teams
• Proactive, self-starting attitude with a passion for problem-solving
• Proficiency with SolidWorks for product design
• Experience with document management systems, ideally Windchill
• Familiarity with statistical tools such as Minitab
• Experience with cardiovascular or neurovascular implants/instruments
• Previous background in innovation-focused R&D teams or start-up environments

Ideal Background

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or a related engineering field
• At least 4 years of experience in medical device design and development
• Candidates from major medtech firms or start-ups with catheter/device experience are encouraged to apply
