Staff Level AWS Engineer/Architect – Dublin South Remote/Hybrid

Our client is a world-renowned leader in the area of medical devices and is currently expanding the Irish team and they have engaged IT Search to speak to a Senior Staff/Principal Engineer to help design and execute highly scalable and secure systems, working closely with counterparts in the USA.

This will suit an very senior Engineer comfortable working across teams, leading delivery of architectures and significant knowledge within AWS and Serverless Computing who is looking for a new challenge and is eager to take on this key role in the years to come.

Role Responsibilities

• Liaise closely with international colleagues to adapt, architect and deliver Serverless solutions
• Understand impact of processes across various departments, DevOps, Development, Product and Senior Management
• Communicate ongoing objectives to board level, working within and shaping global distubuted architectural strategies
• Take responsibility for teams of engineers, mentoring and guiding to bring teams on this journey

Requirements

• 10/15 years of post grad commercial experience the majority of which should be within Development/DevOps/Architecture
• Significant strength and experience of leading AWS related strategy
• Serverless experience a must, with cloud native environments being your natural home, Microservices and Lambda, NoSQL and related experience a plus
• Track record of leadership of technical teams, defining expectations and architecture within a large organisation while remaining hands on
• Development ability is key on an ongoing basis, ideally with Python
• Observability, pipeline knowledge, IaC all should be a given for this role
• Exceptional communication skills and passion for your work

This is a senior position, attracting a significant salary and package, will require occasional liaison outside of local working hours (with USA), onsite visits to the Dublin South will be required at least on a weekly basis (likely two/three days initially).
