Overview

Sánas Community Services Limited is inviting applications for Direct Support Workers in our new centre opening soon in Wicklow Town, Co. Wicklow. We provide alternative respite support for children and young adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. The centre offers an after‑school and weekend service during term time, and is open every day during school holidays. We promote a range of needs from therapeutic and relaxation to development, and encourage engagement with local indoor and outdoor community amenities.

Our team of Direct Support Workers is overseen by Team Leads and follows carefully developed person‑centred plans for each person in the service. We are hiring enthusiastic people who are passionate about developing the lives of children and young adults in their community.

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a team overseen by Team Leads and follow person‑centred plans for each person in the service.
  • Support daily activities, engagement, and development within the centre and through local community activities.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Fetac Level 5 – Health Care Award or equivalent
  • Experience working in a healthcare or social care environment
  • Experience providing care for children or adults with an intellectual disability and autism
  • Experience of working with people who have behaviours of concern
  • Outgoing personality
  • Fluent English
