Sonographer | Dun Laoghaire | 32 hours per week

Job role:

Medica Group is the market leader in teleradiology and managed radiology services to the UK and Ireland. We are recruiting for a new colleague to join our Ultrasound team on a part-time basis. We require specialisations in MSK, DDH or paediatrics; if you do not possess any of these but wish to expand your knowledge and clinical experience, we can provide training.

We opened a new clinic in Dun Laoghaire last year and, as the service expands, we need a new colleague to be based there for 32 hours a week, preferably across three days, or full-time with clinical work at other locations.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Sonographer seeking to advance their career, or a Clinical Specialist Sonographer seeking a new challenge with Medica Ireland.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• CORU registration
• MSc Ultrasound or equivalent
• Relevant clinical sonography experience with the ability to perform a variety of sonographic exam types

Key responsibilities for Sonographer

Clinical Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality images in accordance with Medica procedures and protocols
• Provide a quality service, treating every patient with courtesy, kindness, efficiency, efficacy and confidentiality
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical, technical and radiographic developments in sonography; promote best practices
• Ensure cleanliness, tidiness and safety of clinical areas of all ultrasound services and clinics; follow infection control procedures
• Abide by Health and Safety rules and incident reporting policies
• Report equipment problems promptly to the USM and notify clinic manager of imminent delays with updates as needed
• Report complaints promptly via the quality management system and to the USM
• Participate in training, team days and quality improvement activities
• Contribute to quality control, audits and development of policies and protocols as appropriate
• Maintain accurate patient data entry and management of Medica's RIS/PACS system

Clinical Specialist level

Quality management

• Contribute to development and implementation of policies, protocols and guidelines
• Support the USM in service development and improvement initiatives
• Assist in preventive maintenance and QA of ultrasound equipment
• Provide professional support and advice
• Assist in risk management and health and safety strategies
• Participate in clinical audits and the complaints/incident process

Clinical responsibilities (summary)

• Produce high-quality images in line with Medica procedures and protocols
• Provide a patient-focused service with courtesy, kindness and confidentiality
• Keep knowledge up to date and maintain safety and cleanliness of ultrasound areas
• Maintain local service records and RIS/PACS data
