Child & Family Assessment Centre
Location: Wicklow
Contract Type: Full Time or Part Time
A new early intervention and emotional wellbeing service supporting children who fall between the cracks of existing supports (CAMHS, CDNT, NEPS). Providing a new non-diagnostic, child-centred practice in a purpose-built therapeutic space. Whose mission is to deliver high-quality, child-centred, and family-inclusive assessments, with a focus on early intervention, neurodiversity-informed practice, and compassionate care.
Your role: You will play a key role in supporting children aged 4–12 with:
- Sensory regulation and movement confidence
- Functional and sensory-based planning
- Gross/fine motor and postural development
- Supporting emotional expression through movement and regulation tools
- Providing practical, parent-friendly strategies (no diagnostic labels required)
You need to want to:
- Use your skills meaningfully without waiting lists or burnout
- Collaborate across disciplines — without rigid hierarchies
- Believe in early intervention that is neurodiversity-affirming, playful, and practical
- Be part of something new, ethical, and community-rooted
Responsibilities:
- Deliver detailed occupational therapy assessments focused on sensory processing, gross and fine motor development, coordination, daily living skills, and school readiness
- Use standardised tools such as: Sensory Profile 2 Movement ABC BOT-2 DCDQ, WRIT, and parent/carer interviews
- Produce clear, well-structured assessment reports suitable for families, schools, and referring professionals Offer parent debriefs and practical, strength-based recommendations
- Maintain accurate clinical records and follow GDPR and data protection procedures Liaise with external stakeholders (schools, GPs, psychologists) as appropriate
- Participate in monthly team meetings, case reviews, and quality assurance processes Help shape service protocols, pathways, and continuous improvements as part of the setup phase
Desirable Experience:
- Experience conducting private assessments and writing reports.
- Familiarity with supporting families through AS, ADHD, or DCD diagnostic pathways
- Knowledge of the education system and how OT input supports children's access to learning Interest in collaborative practice with psychologists, SLTs, or therapists
