Daycare at Home Worker

Overview

The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is recruiting for a Daycare at Home Worker to support the Meath Day Care at Home services. The service currently has a number of part-time positions available to support clients in Kingscourt, Drumcondrath and Ardath. Hours are available on different days of the week; all contracts are permanent and there is no weekend or shift work.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care to people with dementia in the client's own home.
• Demonstrate good communication and organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative.
• Undertake social and cognitive stimulation activities with people with dementia, older people or people with intellectual disabilities.

Qualifications and requirements

• Full clean driving licence and access to a car. Essential.
• FETAC Level 5 is desirable.
• Confidence in using IT/Email is desirable.
• Experience of undertaking social and cognitive stimulation activities with people with dementia, older people or people with intellectual disabilities is essential.

Hours, location and contract

• Part-time roles on permanent contracts; no weekend or shift work.
• Hours per week: 15, 18, 21 or 25 hours per week.
• Office and service location: Whistlemount Day Care, 6 Liscarton Villas, Kells Rd, Navan, Meath, C15 PD35; work will be carried out in assigned family homes across Meath.
