Position Summary

As Branch Manager for our Ireland operations, you will be responsible for leading and developing the local team, driving commercial growth, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining a strong customer focus. You'll act as a local ambassador for the SGL brand while aligning with global strategies and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams (sales, operations, customer service)
  • Foster a high-performance, customer-first culture aligned with SGL values
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and staff development

? Business Development & Commercial Growth

  • Drive local P&L performance and revenue growth
  • Identify and execute on new business opportunities across air, ocean, and road freight
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers and partners
  • Collaborate with global and regional sales teams to align strategy

? Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure high service levels across freight and logistics operations
  • Oversee compliance with local regulations, customs requirements, and company standards
  • Ensure operational KPIs, financial targets, and quality benchmarks are met

? Strategic Contribution

  • Contribute to the country-level strategy and execution
  • Act as a key representative in industry and networking events in Ireland

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5–7 years' experience in freight forwarding or logistics, with at least 2–3 years in a management or leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of international logistics (air, ocean, and road freight)
  • Proven experience in business development and managing budgets/P&L
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Commercially astute and customer-focused
  • Proficient in logistics systems and Microsoft Office; experience with CargoWise or similar TMS is a plus
  • Strong understanding of Irish and EU customs, transport, and trade regulations
