Job Purpose
  • To assist the site team with the safe delivery of projects on time and to budget.
  • Gain the required experience, training and development within each assignment to progress to management level following completion of the Graduate programme.

Duties and responsibilities

Responsible For

Safety & Quality
  • Assist with the delivery of Projects in accordance with Ardmac Safety First Guiding Principles.
  • Develop an understanding of the importance of the SHEQ procedures, policies and legislative requirements
  • In conjunction with Project Management staff, ensure implementation of Project Quality Plans, to facilitate defect free delivery, specifically this will include the completion and recording of work inspections for compliance to specifications.
  • Inspect deliveries to ensure they conform with specification
  • Understand the fundamental requirements of a PQQ submission

Construction
  • To understand the importance of providing detailed accurate records re the deployment of labour on site to ensure value and entitlement.
  • To plan works for both direct and sub-contractors to ensure works are carried out safely and to the required quality standard.
  • To Co-ordinate works with other Contractors Mechanical and Electrical to maintain Quality and productivity levels.
  • Develop micro schedules for areas requiring detailed planning, including labour planning schedule
  • Carry out regular and detailed Quality inspections and correct any defective work as soon as it detected.

Planning
  • Develop the ability to read/apply drawings and develop basic project programmes
  • Understand related software i.e. MS Project, Excel & Primavera 6
  • Understand the progress reporting systems
  • Understand the full last planner system
  • Understanding of lead times for project procurement
  • Understand critical path development

Commercial
  • Gain understanding of how to achieve and enhance margin
  • Subcontractor Procurement in an efficient and timely manner
  • Management and administration of subcontractor packages
  • Carry out measurement and take-off quantities as necessary
  • Understanding Architectural layouts & product selection
  • Gain experience with On Screen Take-off / Bills Of Quantities

Qualification

Qualifications and experience
  • Degree in Construction Management.

Ability And Knowledge Of
  • Health and Safety
  • Previous site experience
  • Good IT Skills
  • Good communication skills
