Structural Designer

P+D, Irelands premier marketing solutions providers, have an exciting opportunity for an experienced structural designer to join our busy design studio. Tasked with working on some of the world's biggest brands in a busy studio this provides an excellent opportunity for the right candidate.

This is a full-time position based on site in our Studio in Tallaght.

Some overtime and/or weekend work may be required occasionally during busy periods but this is an exception.

Requirements

You will be a team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will have strong communication skills for interfacing with customers and be able to clearly communicate inspiring ideas. It's essential you have an excellent attention to detail, and a high level working knowledge of Artios CAD. Adobe Creative Suite or Cinema 4D experience although not essential is an advantage.

The purpose of this position is to provide our Clients with innovative and inspiring structural design ideas to allow them to win in a competitive marketplace. No two days are the same and you will work across a range of projects from basic packaging up to complex wow and theatre displays. We need an all-around designer who can deliver a project as part of a team or work diligently on a project requiring acute attention to detail.

Knowledge and Skills required:
  1. College Degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of 2 years experience required within the POS or packaging design industry, specifically working with cardboard.
  3. Passion and enthusiasm for design, with a creative flair.
  4. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Must be a positive, solutions-based individual. Be confident in providing your own solutions for a client brief.
  6. Be extremely detail-oriented with the ability to translate complex solutions into keylines and detailed spec sheets for use by Graphic Design, Production and Estimating.
  7. Ability to work with multiple materials to deliver the correct solution.
  8. Must be flexible, open-minded and be a good listener.
  9. Maintain an interest in the Irish Retail and Point of Sale landscape.
Role & Responsibilities:
  1. Meeting clients or account managers to discuss the brief and requirements of the job.
  2. Estimating the time required to complete the work and inputting this into our MIS system.
  3. Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts above the clients' expectations.
  4. Be the expert and advise the client and client services team providing the best solution possible.
  5. Where required create detailed planograms for client approval.
  6. Working with a range of substrates to develop the most suitable solution for the client.
  7. Ability to interpret the clients' brief and requirements and the application of the final product in the retail environment are essential.
  8. Produce a detailed keyline and sample for client feedback/approval.
  9. Promptly make amends detailed by the sales or graphic team to complete the project.
  10. Produce detailed assembly instructions for the final user to assemble the product.
  11. Track your time using our MIS system and use the MIS system to search for previous jobs.
  12. Follow our file saving process keeping all work neat and tidy for your colleagues.
  13. Work within our ISO process.
  14. An interest in card and paper-based design is essential, always striving to find solutions that are fully recyclable to encourage sustainable solutions for our clients.
