The Opportunity Arup is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant to support our industry-leading team in Dublin and Cork. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in geo-environmental consulting or a related field. This role involves leading complex projects, providing expert advice, and contributing to the growth and development of our geo-environmental services.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage geo-environmental projects from inception to completion.
  • Conduct site assessments and risk assessments.
  • Design and procure geo-environmental site investigations.
  • Manage and supervise ground investigations.
  • Prepare risk assessments (GQRA and DQRA).
  • Advise on soil reuse, and prepare Regulation 27 and Regulation 28 applications.
  • Develop and implement remediation strategies.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior staff.
  • Liaise with clients (internal and external), stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare detailed reports (PSA, DQRA and EIAR).
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrate experience in managing the financial delivery of projects (or geo-environmental elements of projects).
  • Maintain commercial awareness and contribute to business development and client relationship management.
  • Membership and active participation in relevant professional/industry bodies (e.g. IBN, IAH, EI, IGI, or equivalents) is an advantage.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (Level 8) in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field (Level 9 Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in geo-environmental consulting or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish environmental regulations and standards.
  • Proven track record in project management and team leadership, both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Chartered Environmental Consultant, Chartered Engineer, Professional Geologist, or close to achieving the same.
