The Opportunity Arup is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant to support our industry-leading team in Dublin and Cork. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in geo-environmental consulting or a related field. This role involves leading complex projects, providing expert advice, and contributing to the growth and development of our geo-environmental services.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage geo-environmental projects from inception to completion.
- Conduct site assessments and risk assessments.
- Design and procure geo-environmental site investigations.
- Manage and supervise ground investigations.
- Prepare risk assessments (GQRA and DQRA).
- Advise on soil reuse, and prepare Regulation 27 and Regulation 28 applications.
- Develop and implement remediation strategies.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior staff.
- Liaise with clients (internal and external), stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Prepare detailed reports (PSA, DQRA and EIAR).
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
- Demonstrate experience in managing the financial delivery of projects (or geo-environmental elements of projects).
- Maintain commercial awareness and contribute to business development and client relationship management.
- Membership and active participation in relevant professional/industry bodies (e.g. IBN, IAH, EI, IGI, or equivalents) is an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree (Level 8) in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field (Level 9 Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in geo-environmental consulting or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Irish environmental regulations and standards.
- Proven track record in project management and team leadership, both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Chartered Environmental Consultant, Chartered Engineer, Professional Geologist, or close to achieving the same.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
