Base pay range

A progressive and well-established chartered accountancy firm in the West Dublin / Meath area is seeking an Assistant Accountant - Audit to join their growing team. This is a full-time, permanent position, ideal for a part-qualified accountant with at least 2 years of practice experience and audit exposure. Practice experience is essential.

The Role

Reporting to the Accounts Manager, you will support audit and non-audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients. This role involves preparing financial statements, assisting with audits, managing statutory compliance, and contributing to a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant Job include:

Prepare and review annual financial statements
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and assist with year-end close
Support management accounts preparation and audit engagements
Draft company and personal tax returns
Complete VAT and other statutory filings
Liaise with clients and assist on special assignments
Work to deadlines using established processes and procedures

Qualifications & Experience

Part-qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA
Minimum 2 years' experience in an accountancy practice
Strong communication, organisation, and analytical skills
Detail-oriented and results-focused
Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Technical Skills

Proficiency in Excel (intermediate or advanced)
Experience with Sage Line 50, CCH Accounts Production, and Microsoft Office

Working Hours & Flexibility

8:30am-5:30pm Mon-Thurs, 8:30am-2:30pm Friday
Remote working available (Mondays and Fridays after probation)
