About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated VAT Advisory Manager to join our leading professional services firm in Ireland. This is a key role within our tax advisory team, offering the opportunity to work directly with clients across a range of industries, providing expert VAT advice, preparing technical memoranda, and contributing to the development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality VAT advisory services to clients across various industries, ensuring compliance with Irish and EU VAT regulations.
  • Research and prepare well-structured VAT advice memos, technical reports, and client communications.
  • Manage client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and delivering tailored VAT solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for VAT efficiencies and risk mitigation in clients' operations.
  • Support clients with VAT audits, disputes, and negotiations with tax authorities.
  • Lead and oversee VAT compliance projects and VAT process reviews.
  • Train, mentor, and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
  • Keep up to date with changes in VAT legislation and industry trends, proactively advising clients on relevant developments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the firm to deliver comprehensive tax solutions.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing and client pitches.

Key Requirements

  • Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent tax/accounting qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in VAT advisory within a professional services firm or similar environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Irish and EU VAT legislation and case law.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex VAT concepts clearly.
  • Client-Focused: Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Leadership Skills: Experience in coaching, mentoring, and managing junior staff.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong research and analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines effectively.
