PLC Programmer / Automation Engineer.

Our client develops and manufactures production and packaging equipment for industry.

We have been retained to recruit a PLC Programmer / Automation Engineer.

There is flexibility as to where the successful candidate might be living.

In this role you will:

  • Commission and test control programs for packaging machines at the company's plant in Germany and at the customer's site in Ireland
  • Implementation and documentation of software tests for programs
  • Create and edit HMI systems for machines
  • Analyze problems and troubleshoot issues remotely or at customer site
  • Carry out maintenance/ modification visits at customer site

Requirements for this role:

  • Degree in Electronic / Automation Engineering
  • Relevant industrial experience in an automation role, ideally in the pharmaceutical/ medical device industry
  • Good working knowledge of PLC programming, especially Schneider and Rockwell (Allen Bradley), Codesys, or other PLC systems
  • Creativity and inventiveness in the solution of complex requirements
  • Personal initiative and independent work
  • High communication and teamwork skills
  • Good written and spoken English language skills is required. . German language skills not essential but advantageous.
