OverviewJoin Barclays as a Senior Corporate Operations Analyst. You will be part of the team that sits in the First Line of Defence and will perform back-office day-to-day processing services that support the Corporate Banking client base in Europe. The team has service management oversight responsibilities for centralised processes.
Accountabilities- Support various business areas with day-to-day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
- Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to enhance operational processes.
- Develop and implement operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
- Develop reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
- Identify industry trends and developments to implement best practices in banking operations.
- Participate in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Perform prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard, driving continuous improvement.
- Apply in-depth technical knowledge and experience in the assigned area of expertise.
- Demonstrate understanding of underlying principles within the area of expertise.
- Lead and supervise a team where applicable, guiding professional development and coordinating resources.
- If in a leadership role, demonstrate leadership behaviours to create an environment for colleagues to thrive and deliver consistently high standards.
- For individual contributors, develop technical expertise and act as an advisor where appropriate.
- Impact the work of related teams and partner with other functions and business areas.
- Take responsibility for end results of a team's operational processing and activities; escalate breaches of policies or procedures appropriately.
- Embed new policies/procedures adopted due to risk mitigation and influence decision making within own area of expertise.
- Manage risk, strengthen controls, and ensure work aligns with rules, regulations, and codes of conduct.
- Maintain knowledge of how sub-functions integrate with the broader function and the bank's products, services, and processes.
- Demonstrate understanding of how areas coordinate to achieve organisational objectives.
- Make evaluative judgments based on factual information and pay attention to detail.
- Resolve problems by identifying solutions guided by precedents; communicate complex information as needed.
- Act as a point of contact for stakeholders outside the immediate function and build a network of contacts.
- Ability to analyse operational processes and complete tasks accurately and promptly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on Microsoft Excel.
- Solid understanding of operational risk, control environments, and the ability to identify process enhancements.
- Strong team player capable of working within a busy team and supporting colleagues.
- Self-driven with a commitment to developing personal skills and experience.
- Ability to build trust and confidence within the Operations Team and wider bank colleagues.
