Founded in 1994, Complete Laboratory Solutions (CLS) is the highest accredited contract laboratory in Ireland, leading in sampling, analysis, and testing services for the pharmaceutical, medical device, food, and environmental industries.

In addition to analysis and testing at our commercial laboratories, CLS builds strategic partnerships with clients to deliver flexible and managed quality solutions (FlexiQ) by providing highly skilled, work-ready quality professionals on a temporary, project-specific, or long-term basis. These services can be provided at a CLS site or directly at the client's location.

Job Title, Summary & Reporting Line

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Financial Accountant (Senior) will oversee the operational aspects of the company's finance function. Responsibilities include managing financial transactions, ensuring regulatory compliance, preparing reports, and supporting the CFO with financial insights for decision-making.

  • Previous experience as a Financial Accountant in an SME environment.
  • Experience using SAP and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
The RoleAccounting & Transactions
  • Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with standards.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage claims processes for funding to maximize opportunities.
  • Process monthly payroll accurately and on time.
Financial Reporting
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and support group reports and analyses.
  • Ensure statutory reporting requirements are met, including VAT and tax filings.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts, monitor performance, and report variances.
  • Support financial modeling, cost analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Manage cash flow to meet obligations.
Financial Systems
  • Manage SAP financial modules, ensuring proper configuration and data entry.
  • Collaborate with IT and other teams to improve reporting and automation.
  • Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, providing training as needed.
Compliance & Audits
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and stay updated on relevant regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a financial accountant role within a commercial business.

  • Experience with financial software and ERP systems, preferably SAP.
